It’s started. I received the keys to my classroom and a big stack of textbooks to read through. Maybe I should feel more overwhelmed, maybe I should be scared, maybe I should be dreading “the worst year of my life” as I’ve been told. But strangely enough, I don’t feel any of those things. I feel… excited, anxious, curious, ecstatic and humbled. Let the games begin.
An awesome idea that I’m going to implement in my classroom. Jeans full of smarties. A student gets rewarded for outstanding performance, attentiveness and for just about anything academic that I want to say they were smart for. I love the idea because it doesn’t limit the awards to the exceedingly smart kids. Everyone can get a smartie for something!
